However, after discovering she was a woman, the Conductor subsequently demoted her, leading to her legendary thirteen year legal battle with Orchestra and the city of Munich to obtain equal rights as a woman. But once they've "aged out" of the system, these often parentless children are left to fend for themselves with little to no support. AGING OUT explores this crisis, its effect on poverty and homelessness, and new solutions.
